Arise magazine fashion week 2013

The just concluded arise fashion week was truly an awesome experience. And as anticipated it was certainly amazing and definitely one of the biggest fashion event on the African continent. A certain aspect of the event was sponsored by guarantee trust bank while Vodka treated the guest to the show to a cocktail party.




Here are the winners at the event who will be representing Africa at the AMFW Gala at next seasons New York Fashion Week;
Bumni Olaye, a graduate of University of East London. Some of her Fans include the likes of Michelle Obama, Mel B, Mischa barton, Alesha Dixon, and Estelle.

Lisa Folawiyo's brand Jewel by Lisa, which started out in 2005. Jewel by Lisa makes hand-sewn and embellished dresses, skirts and soft furnishings; each piece takes up to 120 hours to create.

Nigerian designer Tsemaye Binitie. 

 Belgian-Ghanian Pierre-Antoine Vetorello studied at the Royal Academy of Antwerp, before training as an intern at Karl Lagerfeld and Balenciaga. He uses embroideries and African related fabrics and techniques.

And also south African born duo Malcolm and Christian. Malcolm was born in Durban but completed his education in England where he studied at St. Martins College in London and did his apprenticeship under John Galliano while Christian grew up in Worcester in the Western Cape and studied design at the Cape Technikon Fashion School.
